I think that Old High Vulcan is probably quite a bit further away from
Modern Standard Vulcan than Old English is from English. Old High Vulcan =
is
in many respects like Latin or even Sanskrit to the English language.
We mustn't forget the dimension of time as well. Languages evolve in time=

and although Vulcan languages probably evolve slowlier than Terran
languages because of the speakers' living longer, there are after all 300=

years between Surak and the time we're talking of.-
