FW: Virus Warning! (Not a Joke) Martina Luise Pachali Mon, 2 Nov 1998 15:34:57 -0500 This virus warning *is* a hoax; one of the oldest there are, in fact. I have been preaching my network users about the many permutations of this joke for years. I could almost lose my composure over this and rant for hours. I will not do it. Look up http://kumite,com/myths/ (note: *no* "www" in this address!!) and read all about the phenomenon from one of the absolute experts on the= field of virus hoaxes. You could also check the web site of any anti-viru= s software business (Network Associates, Symantec, Dr. Solomon, whatever), and you will find "Win a Holiday" among the hoaxes. Please do not pass on the warning; please make sure you tell the person w= ho sent you that thing that the virus is not genuine. T'Pel P,S.: German speakers can look the issue up on my own home page at = http://www,geocities,com/wellesley/9357 Note: this page is in German. Anyone not able to read German (most on thi= s list, I believe) and still not reassured should go straight to the kumite, com web site.
