Or as Saul said k'wawzhe'e, however if indeed we want to make clear the distinction between where the word ends and the suffixes begin we should probably simply disallow words which would make them unclear. We have such a small set of canon words that this shouldn't be a problem. However the non-canon words I think we can dispense with at will. Not all of the non-canon words have to be in this dialect. > >Without intending offense to one who would be Vulcan, I must point > >out that it's supposed to be hard to say. ;-) > > Is that so? If so, then Amandas assertion that some of it is impossible to pronounce correctly may not hold true. I personally think that she may have meant English speakers. However it certainly could mean any human, because some sounds might not be pronouncable with the human vocalizing apparatus. However, we do have a couple of sounds that are hard to pronounce. rr, wh and whl (using the new phonetic system we may drop rr). Rather than rehash this (since it's no longer fresh in my memory) I would encourage you to look in Saul's archive for the prior discussion on how to pronounce this. In fact, I think somewhere in his VALD pages he discusses it. > Another thing. It was a long time ago that I got the first part of the > Vulcan words generated automatically. Marketa wanted to put them on her web page, and she needs to go over them and finalize them - she has final say on what Vulcan will sound and look like. I had not heard anything from her since her report that her computer had been hacked into, hopefully she was able to recover anything lost. Rob Z.
