The question is the availability of other folks being able to access and uncompress the archives. The *,zip format seems to be the most universal over the various platforms that people have: Unix, Win.*, PC-DOS, Mac, DEC VMS, IBM MVS, etc etc. These are all systems that at one time or another have accessed, or tried to access, the archives. It's the client machine, as opposed to the server here, that will freeze.
