Greetings all,

I regret that my first posting on vulcan-linguistics concerns so frivolou=
s
a matter.
What is - is.
A few days ago, John Cook send a posting to vulcan-l, inquiring if anyone=

cared to translate his Sev Trek-cartoons into Vulcan. Tranlations into
Klingon and several other languages have already been done.

I replied and said I would at least try. But I warned him at the same tim=
e
that, due
to the state the language is in now, success would not be garantueed.
As I expected, I have failed to translate the text he mailed me.
I send you the text of the cartoon, hoping anyone can help me with
the translation, as much to better my own expertise as to help mr. Cook.
The cartoon itself I can mail at request. It can also be found at

Kes: Doctor, how can you always get irritated or have romantic feelings
         if you're just a piece of software?

It is evident that this cannot be translated with the information I (we?)=

have now.
no words for: irritation, romantic feelings, software, piece?, kissing.
Shut up! could be "Do not speak!" or "Cease to speak!", which can be
handled well right now.
With Kes' sentence I am totally lost.

Anyone cares to translate?

I also have a problem with the various word lists. Which one is definite?=

I'd say
the one on Marketa's pages but I found another one which was much more
complete. However, this one contained contradictions and worse..
