Another problem is we have no real verification of the assumptions Sorik (and other fans) have made here, other than thru various fanfic, and possible the movie/tv novellizations. Both Tuvok and Vorick seem to follow the Surakian traditions, but neither of them follow said naming convention. Given that fact, I don't see it as a usable system. Also, Saavik does not follow the female naming convention, and the excuse that she is romulan does not hold - since that also comes from the novellization of the movie rather than the movie itself. I don't think Saavik has the right phonology for Romulan anyway.
